This policy explains what Vipernaut collects when you play Vipernaut, why, and what you can do about it.

Vipernaut does not ask for your email address, your real name, or your phone number, and it never sees your card details. You can play without giving us any of them.

1. What we collect

A device key. A random identifier created in your browser that acts as your account. It is not tied to your identity.
Your display name, icon, and profile — whatever you choose to type.
Discord account details, only if you sign in with Discord: your Discord user ID, username, display name, and avatar. We do not receive your Discord email or password, and we cannot read your messages.
Gameplay data: scores, kills, rounds played, leaderboard entries, group and team membership, and Venom balance and transactions.
Content you submit: chat messages, group names, and any avatar image you upload.
Technical data: your IP address and basic request information, kept in server logs for security, abuse prevention, and diagnostics.
Purchase records: which item you bought, when, and Stripe's transaction reference. Card numbers are handled entirely by Stripe and never reach our servers.

2. Why we use it

To run the Game, keep your account and progress, and show leaderboards.
To deliver purchases and keep an auditable record of them.
To prevent cheating, abuse, and fraud, and to enforce our Terms.
To diagnose faults and improve the Game.

Where the law requires a legal basis, ours is the performance of our contract with you (running the Game and delivering purchases) and our legitimate interests in keeping the Game fair, safe, and working.

3. We do not sell your data

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. There is no advertising or third-party tracking in the Game.

4. Who we share it with

Stripe — to take payments. Stripe receives what it needs to process the transaction and handles it under its own privacy policy.
Discord — only if you choose to sign in with Discord or play through the Discord activity.
Google Cloud — our servers are hosted there.
Cloudflare — traffic passes through it for delivery and abuse protection.
Law enforcement — where we are legally required to, or where necessary to protect someone's safety.

5. Storage on your device

The Game stores your device key and your display preferences in your browser's local storage. This is what keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Clearing your browser data removes your device key, and with it your access to that account.

6. How long we keep it

Account and gameplay data: for as long as the account is in use. Inactive accounts may be removed to make room.
Server logs: a short period, for security and diagnostics.
Purchase and Venom records: kept longer where we need them for accounting, tax, or fraud purposes.

7. Your choices and rights

You can change your name and icon at any time in the Game, or stop playing and clear your browser data. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. To exercise any of these, contact us at support@churchviewer.com. We may need to verify that the account is yours, which for an account with no email usually means proving you hold the device key.

Deleting your account removes your profile and gameplay data. Some records — such as purchase and Venom history, and ban records — are kept where we have a legal or anti-abuse reason to keep them.

8. Children

Vipernaut is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us information, contact us and we will delete the account. See also section 1 of the Terms of Service.

9. International transfers

Our servers and service providers are located in the United States. If you play from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed there, where privacy laws may differ from those in your own country.

10. Security

We use HTTPS throughout, restrict access to our servers, and never store card details. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but if a breach affects you, we will notify you where the law requires it.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top will change, and material changes will be announced in the Game.
